This course will help teachers to understand the effects of trauma on a student’s learning and behaviour in school. Trauma can take many forms, such as loss, bereavement, abuse, neglect, conflict, war and conflict, displacement. It can be on-going or can be the result of one traumatic incident. Teachers are not always aware of the possible trauma experienced by students in their class but the effects of this trauma may be present in class and in school.
