CREATING INCLUSIVE CLASSROOMS – CHALLENGES, STRATEGIES AND PRACTICAL TIPS – CONFIRMED!
DATES:
- 28. OCTOBER – 1. NOVEMBER 2024 | Cyprus, Larnaca
Course summary
Our classes are often made up of learners from diverse communities and backgrounds with a wide range of individual learning needs. Amongst them we are almost sure to encounter some with special educational needs such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, communication and interaction difficulties resulting from speech and language impairment or autistic spectrum conditions. Busy teachers often wonder how best to accommodate these learners in a mainstream class and help them to fulfil their potential.
This course will explore:
- The challenges of trying to include learners with diverse needs in a mainstream classroom
- Identifying learners with SEN: general indicators
- Recognising common problem areas and practical tips for overcoming them
- Strategies for creating a classroom culture that recognises and celebrates difference.
- Activating the learning cycle: removing barriers to learning and motivating learners with SEN
- Techniques which promote inclusive learning that will benefit the whole class
- Practical multi-sensory and collaborative activities which encourage inclusion and successful learning
